This must truly be the test of a Godly Nation, that test of caring for the poor and needy, not of our own house, but of the house of God. Not just Christians, but anyone of any nation, or any belief which are being oppressed.
My brother, God rest his soul, was a member of the 101st Airborn Division, United States Army. He was very proud of his insignia which he wore every time he put his uniform on. The words proclaimed him one of the liberators of the oppressed. Not just a soldier of the United States Army, but more, and more significant than any National allegiance, but one of a social significance which spanned all religions, peoples and nations, a liberator of the oppressed.
Though we often fail as Christians, just as my brother often failed as a liberator of the oppressed, it is fundamentally sound to reach for the highest of any physical goal, that of laying down your life for someone else.
